Ryan Jagger began his journey to pop stardom at the age of 6, when Lincoln Cathedral urged him to become the latest, and smallest addition to the choir. During his time as a choirboy, Ryan performed for Lady Diana & Her Majesty, The Queen as well as singing on 'Songs of Praise' and completing his classical grades. Being a highly prestigious choral group, Ryan appeared on CD albums released in major record stores & remembers singing his "first autograph for an American tourist" at the age of 12. Not only did Ryan have another decade to practice his signature, his vocal foundations allowed him to use his voice with maximum effect... or as he prefers "to learn the rules before I could break the rules" of singing. Ryan's dream of writing and recording original pop songs was realised shortly after completing his A Levels. He laughs as he recalls failing his music theory exams, and blames his lack of interest in studying other composers music, people who have to relevance to his passion for pure, unashamable pop music, confessing he was always 'more Beatles than Brahms'. He came to the attention of Jorden Milnes, a chart-topping producer who, after working with some of the biggest selling artists the U.K charts, spotted his potential not only as a singer, but as a pop writer. In 2008, Ryan explored his creativity on early R'n'B demos which gained him a small fan base after the cuts were posted on MySpace. After this initial support, Ryan's drive to transcend being "just another unsigned singer" lead to heavy Internet exposure, working with fashion photographers & artists to produce promotional material as unique & as individual as his vision. During this time, BBC Radio DJ & 'The Professor of Pop' Paul Gambaccini showed his support & quickly described him as "the best writer to emerge from Cleethorpes since Rod Temperton", who wrote Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'. Ryan's loyal fan base - as well as his music output which had evolved in to a fusion of pop, rock and electronic euphoric dance - so was ever growing throughout 2009 & 2010 as he began gaining a reputation as an explosive live performer. After being billed with major artists, his original electro-pop music & stage show would regularly leave audiences of over 10,000 demanding he return to the stage instead of the 'famous headliner'. This, combined with massive amounts of magazine coverage, media interest & International radio air play made Ryan one of the most talked about unsigned artists ever. Furthering this accolade, his self-penned, self-released singles had so far shifted over 5,000 copies making him the most downloaded unsigned artist ever on iTunes. Ryan's presence in mainstream media lead to his involvement in GT magazine's 'Celebrity Naked Issue' which was released in January 2011 to raised money for the Terrence Higgins Trust. Ryan's new single 'B.Y.O.B - Bring Your Own Booze' was released in the same month to rapturous applause by fans & critics alike, getting a thumbs up from Peter Robinson (Popjustice, NME) among other music gurus. This iTunes smash will be on Ryan Jagger's debut album, due out later this year. Ryan has recently recorded his latest track ‘Haunted Heart’ for which within 48 hours of walking out of the studio, had it’s first ever European play on Heart FM Spain !! Shortly after, it was giving it’s first UK play on Gaydio Radio. Ryan will be back on tour this year dates to be confirmed. www.RyanJagger.co.uk for more. |
